The joy (?) of learning new things

This is essentially a test post. For some reason, none of my millions of…er, sixteen (I was rounding up)…subscribers have gotten the emails of my last few entries. I’m not sure why. I didn’t change anything. Literally. Once I got things set up (which I was pretty proud of doing, given my lack of any technical skills whatsoever), all I’ve done is write and publish posts in the exact same way. At least, that’s what I thought I was doing.
I’ve never been that good at learning new things. In law school I thought it would be a good idea to learn how to golf, but my temper was no match for the long learning curve, so I gave that up. Although I read music, I never really studied music theory, and anything other than reading what’s on the page is pretty much beyond me. Yeast intimidates me, so although I love cooking, I don’t bake any yeast breads. This reticence is one reason the idea of starting a blog had to sit with me for a couple of years before I started–because it involves learning something new. Eww.
I have poked around a bit on the hosting site and can see that the last three posts weren’t emailed, but not why or how to change that. So I decided to try a new one and see if I can figure it out on the front end. If this doesn’t work, I’m likely up a creek without a paddle. I’m certain it’s a PICNIC problem (Problem In Chair, Not In Computer) but that still doesn’t help, as I’m the only one in the chair.
In the event you get this in an email, have made it to this point, and want to see what else has been on my mind recently, please visit the website! If you are reading this post on the website but didn’t get it through an email, and have any idea how to help me fix this problem, feel free to share advice in the comments–all suggestions are welcome! If all else fails, I may try that classic IT advice…turn it off and turn it on again.
